Shipping a Motorcycle with Red Carpet

So you’ve decided you want to ship your motorcycle, but you’re unsure of how it actually works. Well, we here at Red Carpet Auto Transport have you covered. In this article you’ll see just how motorcycle transportation works and what you can expect, from the time you get a quote until your motorcycle is dropped off at the destination.

Shipping a motorcycle, however, is unlike shipping a regular automobile. For starters, they’re much smaller and harder to secure on a regular auto transport carrier, so all motorcycles must be shipped on flatbed vehicles in crates. These vehicles are most often enclosed, as many motorcycles can fit in one enclosed carrier. However, it is considerably cheaper, as the cost to ship them is much lower.

Now then, when you first decide to ship your motorcycle with Red Carpet Auto Transport, you’ll receive a quote. Once you get that, you can call us and place an order, where we’ll get some more information about where the motorcycle is coming from and going to. Once we have that, we’ll find you a truck to pick up your motorcycle, and that carrier will show up within one to seven days of placing an order. It may take longer, as you’re shipping a motorcycle, but if there are any delays we will let you know as soon as they arrive.

Now, once the carrier shows up, your vehicle will be carefully packed into a special shipping crate and loaded onto the truck. You’ll sign a bill of lading authorizing the carrier to ship your motorcycle, and then you can rest at ease while your motorcycle is stored safely onto the truck and driven away. This is also the time where we will take your deposit.

We will inform you of any changes to the schedule, but those are relatively rare, and we’ll let you know once the truck is relatively close to the destination. Once the motorcycle shows up, it will be unloaded from the crate, and you’ll be all set. The rest of the transport cost will be paid at this time, and then your motorcycle is yours once again.
